From the Past to the Future: Permanent Exhibition on the History of the University of Pécs

This permanent exhibition showcases the history of the university and its predecessor institutions from the medieval university founded in 1367 to the 21st century. The exhibition details the history of each faculty by academic discipline, highlighting the work of the professors who taught there, the life of the students, and the scientific endeavors undertaken. A separate section is dedicated to the university's clinics and the medical activities conducted there, featuring medical instruments, photographs, and patient memories.

Some unique items on display include the chain of Antal Ádám, a Constitutional Court judge; the microscope of János Szentágothai; personal belongings of Gyula Prinz; a work by Ilona Keserü; a Commodore computer; and paintings of the university's rectors.

Secrets of Old Books: Permanent Exhibition in the Golden Room of the Klimo Library


This exhibition provides an overview of the Klimo Library's collection. The display cases near the windows explore general book and library history topics, such as the history of printed books, the products of famous printing houses, binding types, handwritten annotations, and ex libris.

The display cases along the hallway exhibit books from the library's collection, organized thematically according to the Universal Decimal Classification system. This selection offers insight into the most important and representative works in the fields of science and culture from the 17th to the 19th centuries.


Temporary Exhibitions:


The History and Collections of the Dermatology Clinic in Pécs


This exhibition introduces visitors to the history of the Dermatology Clinic from the Elizabeth University’s era in Bratislava to the present day, covering the work of its director professors, scientific and educational activities, and the clinic's buildings. Over the past 100 years, the clinic's staff has amassed significant collections used in research and in educating university students. In addition to the clinic's library and slide collection, a special moulage collection has been created. This moulage collection includes wax models depicting the skin symptoms of various dermatological and venereal diseases. Alongside these educational tools, a selection of microscopes, syringes, and examination and measuring instruments is also on display.
