As a "tüke" (a native to Pécs), it has always been important to me that one of the largest universities in the country is located here, and it offers high-quality courses and, due to its students, a vibrant university life. This, to a great extent, determines the atmosphere of our city and the sense of life that pervades our everyday life. I lived and studied abroad for several years, but I have never experienced an atmosphere like that of Pécs.

Many people call the Faculty of Music and Visual Arts the jewel box of PTE, and indeed, we are the keepers and „polishers” of special treasures. Whether you are a musician, a visual artist or a practitioner of applied arts, you belong to the same community of teachers, students and staff at the faculty. Sounds, colours and emotions mix on our campus in the Zsolnay Quarter, an inspiring environment for all. Our students and teachers are not simply university students or university teachers, but artists who, using their talents as a basis, want to express themselves and create works of art. Being an artist for them is no less than a lifestyle.

As the manager of the Institute of Music, I would define my job as "ein Mädchen für alles". I cooperate with my colleagues as a non-musician, I coordinate the organisational side of the work at the institute: the courses, the timetables, the teaching load, the programmes at the department, the exams, the concerts and the performances at university events. The annual university concerts and opera performances are a rewarding way to display the talents and outstanding artists of our institute.

I am a qualified teacher, but I worked in the competitive sector for many years. I can make use of the knowledge, experience and perspective I gained as a teacher or in the service sector in my daily contact with students. I strive for a helpful, positive attitude; I think it is important for the students to feel comfortable in our institute, at the PTE and in Pécs.

I have been working at the university for 15 years. I regularly visited exhibitions and museums, I liked classical music also before, but it was not an integral part of my everyday life. In recent years, I have been "infected" by music by the extraordinary artists who teach at our institute and many of whom I can consider friends. I can find everything that makes my life and interest in culture whole within the Faculty of Music and Visual Arts.
