General Rules for Loan and the Order of Notice

Loan

The library card is personalised and non-transferable. Based on individual consideration and under exceptional circumstances, the reader may use library services through his/her authorized representative.

Registered library users may loan at the loan desk or at the automated lending equipment.

The loaned documents must be returned during the loan period, starting from the date of the loaning. Anyone who misses the deadline, must pay a late fee.

The late fee is 20 HUF/document/day.

The readers's responsibility is to adhere to the deadline. The consequences of failing to meet the deadline shall be independent of any other circumstances and conditions – e.g. the fact that a warning message is sent by the library or not or whether you have read it.

If the reader missed the deadline due to an unavoidable, extraordinary cause (vis maior), he/she may defend himself/herself with a supporting document. The request must be sent to the following e-mail address: info@lib.pte.hu

The employees and students of the University of Pécs must settle their library debts before the termination of their legal relationship with the University of Pécs.

Warning messages

The loaned document shall be returned within the time limit starting from the date of the loan. Anyone who misses the deadline, must pay a late fee. The late fee is 20 HUF/document/day.

Order of the warning messages sent:

1. Automatic notification e-mail 2 days before loan deadline
2. 1st notice: 1 week after the expiration (by e-mail, in the absence of an e-mail, by postal letter)
3. 2nd notice: 7 days after the 1st notice (by email, or by postal letter if no e-mail address is available)
4. 3rd notice: after the 14th day following the sending of the 2nd notice by a registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt
5. If the reader fails to settle the debt after 15 days from the date of the 3rd notice, the Library directs the recovery of the debt to legal action.

The readers's responsibility is to adhere to the deadline. The consequences of failing to meet the deadline shall be independent of any other circumstances and conditions – e.g. the fact that a warning message is sent by the library or not or whether you have read it.

Please also note that the recovery will then be split according to ownership, depending on whether the debt belongs to the Csorba Győző Library or to the University of Pécs University Library and Centre for Learning. As a result, if both institutions are concerned, the procedural costs of recovery may be doubled.
