The World at Your Fingertips – An Interactive Exhibition

On September 27, we celebrate World Tourism Day. To mark the occasion, University of Pécs Library and Knowledge Centre invites visitors to explore a special display exhibition. 

The exhibition, “The World at Your Fingertips,” focuses on travel, discovering the world and learning about different cultures. Through a selection of travel guides, maps and informative publications, visitors can explore distant countries, cities and landscapes. The books also remind us that travel is not only about discovering new places, but also about learning and experiencing encounters with different cultures. 

The theme is closely connected to the international community of the University of Pécs. The Pannónia Scholarship Programme gives PTE students the opportunity to study at partner institutions abroad and gain new international experiences. At the same time, students from many countries around the world come to PTE every year. 

As part of its commitment to international connections and cultural diversity, the PTE Pécs Summer School was held for the tenth time in 2026. This year’s programme brought together around 200 international students from 60 universities across 40 countries in Pécs. 

World Tourism Day is also connected to the educational programmes offered by PTE. At the Faculty of Business and Economics, students enrolled in the Tourism and Catering programme can explore the world of travel, tourism and hospitality as part of their studies. 

The exhibition can be visited from September 27 at the University of Pécs Library and Knowledge Centre, on Level 0, next to the registration desk.
